Kaja (Valenti) Lorenci (1981, Maribor) graduated from SEAD – Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance in 2006 and later collaborated with choreographers Andreja Rauch Podrzavnik, Mateja Bučar, Gregor Luštek and Rosana Hribar, Madeleine Karlsson and Aleksandra Stratimirović, Shimrit Golan, Katja Legin, Nataša Berce, Karmina Šilec (Carmina Slovenica) and Vita Osojnik.

In the performance Awaiting Resonance, co-created with choreographer Ivan Mijačević in 2011, she began developing her own creative practice marked by a distinct approach to movement. In 2016 she created a group piece Just in Appearance Sometimes as Everyone Else and Tristan Chord or Sweet Ever After in 2018.

Kaja taught contemporary dance technique at the Pre-school Education, Grammar and Art Grammar School and is currently finishing her BA in Art of Movement at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana. In 2017 she received the Ksenija Hribar Award (emerging choreographer), presented by the Contemporary Dance Association Slovenia. Since 2019 she has been co-curating Neforma, a series of dance and music improvisations, produced by Sploh Institute.
