Over the course of his career as dancer and performer, Goran Bogdanovski (1971, Ljubljana) collaborated with over 70 choreographers and theatre directors in a range of dance genres (ballet, physical theatre, contemporary dance, video etc.). Between 1989 and 2000 he was a member of the Slovenian National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, while also working freelance with different artists in Slovenia and abroad.

In 2000 Goran founded Fičo Balet (Ficho Ballet) which he uses as a vehicle for developing his artistic expression through innovative dance productions and creative workshops. He is involved in dance-based programming for international projects and festivals as well as active as a dance pedagogue. Since 2000 he has choreographed and produced 15 artistic projects, which were presented to international audiences from Moscow to New York. Goran is the recipient of several prestigious awards, among them also the 2004 UNESCO Aschberg Award (Montreal). He is the artistic and managing director of Fičo Balet since its establishment in 2000.

In 2003 Goran launched, together with several partners, Gibanica, Biennial of Slovenian Contemporary Dance Art, the first Slovenian dance platform to showcase and promote Slovenian contemporary dance. In response to the inefficient systems for creating and producing contemporary dance in Ljubljana, Goran proposed and realised the initiative for a new and much needed rehearsal space at Kino Šiška and also acted as its manager until 2009, when the spaces were renovated in cooperation with Asociacija – Association of Arts and Culture NGOs and Freelancers, and the Municipality of Ljubljana and renamed to Kino Šiška Centre for Urban Culture. In 2005 he instigated an international education-research project NOMAD Dance Academy with partners from six countries in the region to fill the lack of opportunities for research and education in contemporary dance. He was also involved in the constitution initiative of the Centre of Contemporary Dance Art and the Slovenian Contemporary Dance Network. As curator he worked on numerous projects, among them the project of European dance houses Modul-dance, the international laboratory TryAngel, CoFestival and festival @Šiška.

In 2006 he started teaching, coaching, and mentoring non-professional movement lovers, professional dancers, people with disabilities, dance & yoga teachers, martial artists, therapists, psychologists, coaches, professors, managers, heart entrepreneurs, CEO’s, change leaders…  In his Ficho methods he is using methods from the field of Dance, Dance Improvisation, Contact Improvisation, Theatre, Meditation, Yoga, Martial arts, Spirituality, Shamanism, Therapy, Personal growth, Team building, Business Strategy, and Leadership. He discovered what functions clearly for any-body regardless of dance background, experience, or level of understanding of dance, and created a Ficho training, Dance Alchemy and other tools that can also be transferred to daily situations, relations, and work.
