Sinja Ožbolt (1962, Ptuj) gained her dance education through attending modern and contemporary dance classes and workshops in Maribor, Zagreb, Rovinj, Vienna, London and Ljubljana. In 1980 and 1981, she studied acting at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana and went on to further her dance education at the London Contemporary Dance School. During her studies, she also taught contemporary dance classes in Slovenia and abroad. As choreographer she has collaborated with many important dance companies and theatres in Ljubljana: Contemporary Dance Studio, Experimental Theatre Glej, Slovene National Theatre Ljubljana, Mladinsko Theatre, Ljubljana City Theatre, Dance Theatre Ljubljana, Choreodrama etc.

Sinja Ožbolt is the founding member of Dance Theatre Ljubljana (1984) and has been a member of its artistic board ever since. She is also a member of the Contemporary Dance Association Slovenia and the initiator and artistic leader of the contemporary dance programme Workshops and DanceLabs at Dance Theatre Ljubljana.  In 2008 she also initiated and co-developed with the Slovenian theorist Rok Vevar UKREP – Festival of Dance Perspectives. She has been teaching and choreographing at the Pre-school Education, Grammar and Arts Grammar School in Ljubljana since 2010.
