Igor Sviderski (1967, Kumanovo, Macedonia, Yugoslavia) started dancing at the age of thirteen at the Ljubljana-based Kazina Dance School and later trained under numerous acclaimed dance artists and teachers at home and abroad. He has been a visible figure on the Slovenian contemporary dance and performance art scenes since 1989, when he was engaged to perform in Ksenija Hribar‘s The Tropic of Odysseus, produced by Dance Theatre Ljubljana. In 1994 he graduated from the Ballet Academy in Stockholm and in 2012 from the Dance Academy in Ljubljana. Graduating with an MA from the art of movement at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television, Igor was the first Slovenian dance pedagogue with the Master of Arts title. Besides creating his own work, he has worked with and performed for numerous national and international artists in the areas of dance, theatre and performance art.

An experienced dance pedagogue, he has co-created the educational and artistic programmes of numerous dance institutions and centres at home and abroad. He has been teaching at the drama/theatre and film programmes at the Nova Gorica Grammar School and at the Academy of Dance and Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana and the dance programmes at the Alma Mater Europaea Dance Academy. He regularly teaches contemporary technique and dance improvisation classes to adults at the Dance Studio Intakt in Ljubljana and has taught at different national and international dance festivals. He is the recipient of the ImpulsTanz Festival’s DanceWeb scholarship and two dance related awards: the Golden Bird Award and Meta Vidmar Plaque for his achievements in the development of Slovenian dance culture. Besides his stage and pedagogical work, Igor is also a selector for amateur dance at the Public Fund for Cultural Activities. Rounding off his mentoring and pedagogical work, he  has been active for a number of years as movement adviser in contemporary dance and dance-theatre performances.
As a dancer / performer he has worked with numerous directors, video artists and choreographers in Slovenia and abroad.
In 2019 Igor marked the 30th anniversary of his artistic work with the series of events Threedecade in April, November and December 2019.
