Michael Rynia (1984; Wroclaw, Poland) started his dance career as a hiphop artist. He competed in major international events and tournamentsa and winning won 5 hiphop world championship titles. He first came into contact with the theatre through an engagement at the Polish Theatre in Wroclaw, which encouraged him to study at the CODARTS University for the Arts in Rotterdam, where he graduated in 2007. While living in the Netherlands he collaborated with a number of acclaimed choreographers such as Ed Wubbe, Club Guy & Roni, Andre Gingras. During his engagement with the Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, he worked closely with the company’s artistic head Ed Wubbe and co-created the performanceB.A.M.”. He has presented his first solo piece “Dream of Electric Sheep” at the Royal Opera House, London, and the iTs Festival, Amsterdam; his duet “Switched” was shown at the Lucent Dance Theatre in The Hague.

He has been living in Slovenia since 2009, working closely with the Slovenian dancer and choreographer Nastja Bremec Rynia as MN Dance Company and developing their dance style called ‘contemporary fusion’. As a choreographer and artistic head, he has created many evening-length dance performances and toured with them extensively throughout Slovenia and Europe. He has presented several choreographic miniatures at different choreographic competitions. He choreographed an evening of dance entitled “The Classics and Tango” at the Slovene National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana and regularly collaborates with the Slovene National Theatre Nova Gorica. He teaches dance and choreography at the Alma Mater Europaea Dance Academy Ljubljana.
