Kristina Aleksova (1984, Ljubljana) completed her ballet training at the Ballet and Music Conservatory in Ljubljana and became a member of the ballet ensemble in the Slovene National Theatre Opera and Ballet Ljubljana. In 2013 she joined the Tanzkompanie Graz in Austria for a season. In the Ljubljana ballet ensemble, she danced in numerous performances, also as a soloist, and choreographed two of her own performances: Children from the edge of reality and How deep is your (w)hole (with Živa Petrič).
In 2017, she embarked on a freelance career as a choreographer, dancer and performer. As part of Via Negativa Lab, she began to develop her own projects, that resulted in creating two pieces: The Heart and The Kiss. In 2024, she created the dance composition Three Quarters of a Human in production by Via Negativa and En Knap, which was presented at the City of Woman Festival in Ljubljana.
She has collaborated with Via Negativa Theatre on several works, including VN20. She also collaborated with the DUM Association of Artists, participating in performances by Mateja Bučar. In 2023, she contributed to the Ventilator series by Zavod Sploh and began mentoring at the Performance Art Research Ljubljana (PARL). Kristina is also a member of the Hupa Brajdič creative collective.
She teaches ballet at the Practicum (Emanat / Pre-School Education and Grammar School Ljubljana), the Alma Mater Europaea Dance Academy and in dance studio Intakt in Ljubljana.
