Jerca Rožnik Novak (1992, Ljubljana) a freelance dancer, performer, and dance pedagogue based between Ljubljana and Vienna, finished the contemporary dance programme at the Pre-School Education, Grammar and Arts Grammar School Ljubljana. She went on to study at the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität in Linz, Austria, where she graduated with a BA and an MA from dance pedagogy in 2016 and 2019 respectively. In 2018 she also graduated from the Faculty of Social Work in Ljubljana.

As a dancer she has worked with Willi Dorner, Rose Breuss, Gisela Elisa Heredia, Anna Gulyás, Maria Koliopoulou, Matjaž Farič, Johannes Wieland, Enya Belak Gupta, Vita Osojnik, Damian Cortes Alberti, Andreja Rauch Podrzavnik, Jan Rozman, Los InformallsKirin España Orozco, Magdalena Reiter, … She performed at the Tyrolean Festival Erl in the opera production L’Italiana in Algeri and was a member of the Vienna-based PUC-Pop Up Collective. She is actively collaborating with the Austrian dance groups Editta Braun Company and SILK Fluegge Dance Company since 2014.

Her works include the collaborative dance project The Daddy Project, which received the 2013 Ksenija Hribar Award in the category promising dancers, and the debut performance Hweōl …in the Whirlwind of Time which she co-created with Leon Marič in 2016 and was produced by Dance Theatre Ljubljana. Much of her work is done in collaboration with other artists such as a participatory performance. In 2020 she conceived 2gether/Al(l)one with Johannes Randolf and in in 2021 a dance solo FEAR(FUL)LESS, co-crated with Damian Cortes Alberti (both produced by Dance Theatre Ljubljana). In 2021 she co-created a dance performance BLUFF (produced by ZAVOD FLOTA), shared with Enya Belak and Veronika Valdés, and others.

As a teacher, she has worked at a Highschool for contemporary dance SVŠGUGL in Ljubljana/Slovenia and teaches classes in Practicum contemporary dance art program. She gave training to En-Knap Group company in Ljubljana/ Slovenia, and Theater Münster dance company in Münster/Germany. She is regularly giving classes at Beat1060. Currently she is a guest teacher at Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität in Linz/Austria.
