Ajda Tomazin (1986, Ljubljana) finished the contemporary dance programme at the Pre-School Education, Grammar and Art Grammar School in Ljubljana and in 2011 graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana. In 2010 she studied film and television editing at the Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television in Ljubljana. In 2014 she graduated with a BA from choreography and performance under Bojana Kunst PhD at the Institute of Applied Theatre of the Justus-Liebig University of Giessen, Germany. During and after her studies, Ajda exhibited her works in ceramics, photography and design at many group and solo exhibitions. For several years she also worked as choreographer at Schauspielhaus Frankfurt. A freelance designer, interdisciplinary maker, choreographer and the recipient of the 2019 Ksenija Hribar Award for set design, Ajda is known to bring to the projects she is involved in distinct and clear concepts that blend choreography and design, be it space or costume design, which significantly contributes to the language and the methodology of the creation. The quality of her work in the area of performance arts is more and more recognised also by the wider international expert community – with an increasing number of tour dates as well as awards. In 2019 Ajda has launched ODPRTI PREDALI / OPEN DRAWERS, Institute of interdisciplinary processes, based in Kranj, Slovenia.
