dancer, choreographer, pedagogue
Tina Habun is a dancer, choreographer, and pedagogue whose work combines contemporary dance, theatrical approaches, and cabaret aesthetics. After starting with modern and jazz dance techniques, she furthered her artistic journey by studying at the Academy of Dance at AMEU in Ljubljana, focusing primarily on contemporary dance and movement research. Since 2022, she has been a member of the En-Knap Group. She has collaborated with both Slovenian and international choreographers such as Rosana Hribar (Admitting the Unbearable, I love you. 2022, Exposed 2018), Iztok Kovač (Ant Ferocious), Kristina Aleksova (Three Quarters of a Human 2024), Silvia Gribaudi & Andrea Rampazzo; Fabien Prioville, Csaba Molnár & Emese Cuhorka, and Jesús Rubio Gamo, both within the En-Knap Group and in other artistic environments.
She began her exploration of contemporary dance and creation within cabaret-theatrical spheres in Kamnik, a place she often returns to and where she still occasionally creates. In Kamnik, she worked with Anja Bezlova and Goran Završnik, and under their mentorship and as a collaborator, co-created numerous events and performances, including the Katzen Kabaret series. Through this work, she developed a special love for the cabaret form, which remains an important part of her artistic expression. As a mentor and pedagogue, she works with both young people and adults. She began her pedagogical journey already in high school, taking over the choreographic part of mentoring musicals created by students at the Rudolf Maister Gymnasium and Secondary School. For more than ten years, she taught both recreational and competitive groups at the Šinšin Dance School. With individuals and dance groups, she participated in festivals such as Živa, Plesna Nacionala, and Pika Miga, and with her dancers, achieved top results in modern competitive dance.
Her latest works Shell (2025); Anthology of scream I: Surprise bag (2024) and previous original works, intertwine movement, humour, satire, and subtle social critique, with a special interest in theatrical situations that, due to their seriousness, often appear comic or absurd. She also collaborates with various artistic collectives, creates in cabaret and experimental formats, and remains active as a mentor and pedagogue.
