Nina Fajdiga (1979, Ljubljana) graduated from School for New Dance Development in Amsterdam in 2007. Her solo and collaborative performances have been shown at different domestic and international dance festivals. In 2006 she won the Young Choreographer’s Award at the International Theatre School Festival for her solo Debris. As performer she collaborated with choreographers David Zambrano, Katie Duck, Simone Truong, Gyula Cserepes, Pere Faura, Georg Hobmaier, Matej Kejžar, Matjaž Pograjc, Tina Valentan, Jasmina Križaj, Clarise Lima… Working closely and regularly with improviser, pedagogue and choreographer David Zambrano and his 50 CollectiVe, Nina is also a certified Flying Low and Passing Through improvisation techniques teacher.
In 2022 she was movement assistant and performer in artistic research Woods by Brazilian artist Clarice Lima together with Catarina Saraiva and Aline Bonamin. In 2024 she is part of the curatorial team with Samuel Retortillo, Simona Deaconescu, Tony Tran, and Masako Matsushita in the international project Growing Movements: Dance Reforestation as part of the Start up Forum by Aerowaves.
Her works (Debris, Sugar Rush, About Nina Simone, … and call me Antonia, ect.) have been supported by European Cultural Foundation, Slovenian Ministry of culture, produced and co-produced by European dance production houses (DWA Amsterdam, Huis a/d Werf Utrecht, La Caldera Barcelona, Tanzhaus Zurich…) and shown in various international dance festivals.
Since 2010 she has been teaching regularly at the contemporary dance programme at the Pre-school Education, Grammar and Art Grammar School in Ljubljana and at different dance academies across Europe, among others also at Alma Mater Europaea in Ljubljana.
