Sabina Schwenner (1976, Novo mesto, Slovenia) is a dancer, teacher and choreographer. She began her dance career in the ballet department of the Marjan Kozina Music School in Novo mesto. In 1992 she was a founding member of the Terpsihora Dance Association, Novo mesto, where she created several small and full-length dance performances as a dancer, author and mentor. As a dancer, she has collaborated with various authors from the field of performing arts: Bara Kolenc, Petra Pikalo, Sinja Ožbolt, Dušan Teropšič, Borut Bučinel, Ivan Peternelj, Ksenija Hribar, Neven Korda, Uroš Potočnik, etc. In 2011, she created a successful music movement debut performance The Butcher Shop at the Glej Theatre. From 1999 to 2011 she worked as a regional dance selector for the Public Fund of the Republic of Slovenia for Cultural Activities. From 2007 to 2015 she taught at the Conservatory of Music and Ballet in Ljubljana in the Department of Contemporary Dance. She regularly works as a choreographer, teacher and mentor at the Intakt Dance Studio, the Dance Epicentre and the Montessori Academy in Ljubljana. Since 2016, she has also been an external examiner for the matura examination in contemporary dance at SVŠGUGL in Ljubljana. She has mentored numerous award-winning choreographic miniatures, participated in award-winning performances and short films, and in 2012 received the Meta Vidmar plaque for creative achievements in the field of contemporary dance. She has been working as a freelance dancer, choreographer and teacher in the cultural sector since 2007.
